I love this time of year. The holiday season always makes me smile because it seems to be about the kids more than anything. I know that I’m not alone when I say that there is nothing quite like seeing the expressions on my children’s faces on Christmas morning – even if they do wake me up far too early to open presents.
As far as dolls are concerned, the lists are coming out fast and fierce. After seeing what’s popular and what’s getting great reviews, it’s time to share which dolls will make great gifts for the little toddlers you need to think of this Christmas season.
5. Cabbage Patch Cuties
Lions and Tigers and Bears! Oh My!
These aren’t the Cabbage Patch Kids I grew up with – they’re far more cute and cuddly!
And I’m not the only one who thinks so.
These Kids are selling strong and in some cases selling out already. They have already sold out of the adorable Cow Kid at several of my local toy stores, and I’ve heard they might stay out of stock until early next year.
Fortunately, there is a whole line of these cute little critters available that will make your little one smile.

4. Baby Alive My First Doll – Moonlight Lullaby
For many parents, bed time can be the biggest chore. You can make it a little easier by giving your child the gift of a soothing bed time buddy.
Baby Alive’s Moonlight Lullaby is the perfect snuggle buddy for toddlers who have a difficult time getting to sleep at night.
She plays real lullaby music to sooth and has a glowing moon on her tummy that helps your little one feel a little more secure. She also makes cooing and giggling noises.
Best part of all? She’s machine washable, and we parents know how valuable a feature that is!
She’s a bargain at less than $15, though she does require 2 AA batteries. She’s recommended for children 18 months and up.

3. Gund’s My First Dolly
If you know anything about Gund, you know that they’ve been making high quality dolls for eons. My First Dolly is no exception to that.
And while new parents might not know anything about Gund’s long history making toys that make toddlers happy, I guarantee that child has a grand parent or two that knows how a doll like this can quickly become a child’s best friend.
This is one of the few dolls that is available this Christmas that has absolutely no bad reviews, comments or otherwise. She is soft and sweet, and has an embroidering for facial features, as well as “My First Dolly” embroidered on her pink dress.
For less than $20, this is a fabulous gift for any toddler girl.

2. Dandilion’s Pink Organic Doll
Yes, that’s right. An organic doll!
With all of the awareness of environmental responsibility these days, I thought it was my responsibility to include an environmentally responsible doll!
Eco-conscious parents can feel safe knowing that this doll is made from environmentally safe materials such as organic cotton velour with low impact dyes and corn fiber filling.
She’s rated for babies of any age and is small enough for small children to handle easily. She’s stitched to be resilient and will withstand tugging and anything else that comes with toddlerhood, including being put through the washing machine.
To top it all off, the doll’s manufacturer, Dandilion, donates a portion of sales to Breast Cancer Research.

1. Melissa & Doug’s Brianna Doll
I have heard more great things about Melissa & Doug toys than any other toy manufacturer, and with good reason. The folks at M&D not only create outstanding toys, but they often set the bar for creating extremely safe and durable toys at unbelievable prices.
Brianna is no exception to this rule. She is truly an amazing doll. She features eyes that close when she lays down, and even though she’s soft and cuddly, she’s easy to clean and can be placed to sit on her own.
She has much more hair than you would expect, and it is very well fastened and won’t fall out. My only suggestion is to take care when washing it – I have bad memories of destroying my favorite doll’s hair when I was a child, even if it was well-intentioned!
